“Wherever we visited in the UAE, we greatly enjoyed the hospitality of the Emirati people,” noted the Honorable Robert Evnen, Nebraska’s Secretary of State. “We identified numerous opportunities to build relationships between the UAE and Nebraska's businesses and universities. We look forward to following up in the weeks ahead.

The mission revolved around the theme of Innovation, Sustainability, and Food Security. Nebraska is America’s top producer of quality beef, as well as a top producer of corn, soybeans, sorghum, popcorn, and other grains. To achieve these high yields, Nebraska relies upon precision agriculture, including sophisticated irrigation techniques.
The delegation consisted of 30 leaders representing academia, the private sector, and agricultural associations (Farm Bureau, Corn Board, Sorghum Producers, beef and dairy producers, etc). Businesses included companies in irrigation, home health care, network security, and others.
Under the auspices of the Abu Dhabi Education Council, professors from the University of Nebraska – specializing in sustainable agriculture – held discussions to engage in cooperative programs with such schools as Abu Dhabi University, Khalifa University, UAE University, and Zayed University.
With support from the UAE Embassy in Washington, DC and the US Embassy in the UAE, the delegation held meetings with multiple ministries, including the Ministries of Climate Change & Environment, Economy, Higher Education, and Energy & Infrastructure. Delegates also met with investment entities in the UAE to discuss two-way foreign direct investment.
