Member Profile: General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc.

Sector: Aerospace & Defense

Executive Summary:

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is a world-class manufacturer of proven, reliable Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) systems, radars, and electro-optic and related mission systems solutions, including the Predator® aircraft series and the Lynx® Multi-mode Radar. Leading the industry to new levels of performance, reliability and operational capability since its establishment in 1993, GA-ASI has expanded the acceptance and application of RPA within the United States and among allied forces around the globe. The company is dedicated to providing long-endurance, mission-capable aircraft with the integrated sensor and data link systems required to deliver persistent, wide-area situational awareness.

GA-ASI aircraft are in operation by numerous customers throughout the world and have accumulated over four million cumulative flight hours to date. The company currently is in full production on its newest aircraft system, Predator XP, which supports a broad customer export base, including Middle East, North African, and South American regions. The aircraft exhibits the same physical dimensions, altitude, speed, and long endurance (up to 35 hours) as the original Predator RPA first flown by the U.S. Air Force in 1995, and it has been updated to include triple-redundant avionics and an automatic takeoff and landing capability. In addition, it can be integrated with multiple Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) sensors, including state-of-the-art, high-definition, electro-optical infrared cameras and GA-ASI’s wide-area search Lynx® Multi-mode Radar.
